The anti-vandal squad of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps(NSCDC) has arrested four suspected in connection with vandalising railway materials in Kaduna state.
The vandals were arrested with the materials by NSCDC operatives in Kafanchan, Jemaa local government area of the state.
Briefing reporters when he paraded the suspects in his office, the Commandant of NSCDC in Kaduna state, Abdullahi Nuraddeen, says his men on a tip-off stormed a railway location at Jagindi area and met the suspects vandalizing railway slippers and clips, and on sighting personnel of the NSCDC, they took to their heels.
He explains that one of the vandals was injured during the raid while another one was later arrested based on an intelligence report from an informant that a truck was sighted loading vandalized railway slippers at Dalle around Jagindi.

Two other suspects according to the Commandant were subsequently arrested at a military checkpoint as they were carrying 1,600 vandalized railway slippers and clips to where they will dispose of them.
The commandant discloses that an estimated value of the vandalized railway slippers is worth about thirty-Nine Million five hundred and fifty-two thousand naira.
He also says that the suspects are currently undergoing interrogation and effort is being intensified with a view to identifying all those involved in the vandalisation and destruction of critical national infrastructure.
